Key Accomplishments
|
- Migrated complicated medical subscription service based on ColdFusion 5 to ColdFusion 7. Required MSSQL skills and ColdFusion programming. Also included ecommerce and plenty of JavaScript mathematics.
- Architected, designed, and developed a community portal with paid subscription service site in PHP, MySQL and launched it on the load-balanced web environment previously created.
- Architected, designed, and developed a performance benchmark statistics system aggregating multiple disparate sources of data into one intranet user interface based upon ASP and MSSQL.
- Managed project to develop customized Firefox plugin to provide exact print layout control for FedEx label printing (including barcode generation). Performed a large part of the ASP, JavaScript, and MSSQL work involved in the integration.
- Managed project to build corporate IT environment for brand-new company. Refined service model to keep it stable and low-maintenance so that average cost of IT service was kept under $100/m after installation.
- Helped develop back-end functions providing XML cataloging and harvesting of published book data to be presented in an interactive multimedia format.
- Assisted local company in identifying and remedying database and CPU usage overloads in an extranet portal application on Linux, MySQL, and PHP scripting.
- Numerous coding and DBA services on small projects mostly in PHP and/or MySQL related.
- Overhauled several office IT environments to facilitate our low-maintenance low-cost management model.
- Restructured Moonbeam Consulting LLC business model for continued growth.

HIGHLIGHTS
Books and Manuscripts LLC

Books And Manuscripts LLC has a fantastic business model and portal concept. They provide exposure to authors with manuscripts ready for publishing to the publishers that are so hard to reach. The system is designed to make it easy for publishers to weed through the many hundreds of manuscripts they have to sort through on a regular basis and pick the items that are most fitting to their marketing needs. The system required full DBA services, a schema design for the backend, cutting edge PHP scripting and a powerful hosting environment.
This particiular application allows authors to upload multiple book, article, and poetry manuscripts including sample illustrations and writing. Each item is then subscribed to the service through online payment to allow the item to be searchable by publishers. Publishers are allowed to search, save items as "favorites", and even forward them to each other for consideration by colleagues.
Intel Corporation, Performance Marketing

Intel Performance Marketing needed better tools for processing Business Intelligence, specifically CPU benchmark data. The project required setting up an intranet hosting service internally at Intel based upon ASP/MSSQL2000. A database schema was required that could abstract meanings from properties so that all benchmark data could be "related" even across benchmark test suites which were sometimes radically different in their purpose.

The tool had to aggregate public sources of benchmark data into a database and required an accompanying interface which sales and marketing staff could use to gather data and create charts from.
Practice Resource Management, Inc.

ReimbursementPlus is a subscription portal which allows medical practices to closely follow government guidelines on procedural charges. The site allows a practice to compare it's service rates with government mandated limits to make sure that the rates did not violate legal limits.
Cold Fusion 5 was based on a proprietary C++ code base. It was replace with a Java Servlet based paradigm in Cold Fusion 6 and higher. Dramatic code changes needed to be made throughout the site and its supporting database to make the transition. Also this project required a lot of JavaScript debugging (as much of the calculations are done in the client-side JavaScript).
Flowerbud, Inc.

Flowerbud, Inc. uses an extranet to print their flower shipping labels for use with FedEx. Because their product is perishable they must rely on FedEx for speed of delivery. FedEx has strict label requirements which usually require some sort of client side application (even with extranets) to layout the printed label. Using Firefox's Extension ability we were able to generate print-ready labels in exact layout with ASP/JavaScript and a barcode generator. This is not possible in MSIE.
The project also required some amount of MSSQL query logic as well.
Mortgage Market Capital, Inc.

Mortgage Market Capital recently created a brand new office environment and asked us to design their IT infrastructure. They have no in-house IT staff and wanted to be largely paperless. We designed a low-cost to entry IT environment based on Windows 2003 server which provides them almost paperless operations (automatic fax and image storage) as well as setting up their IT infrastructure so that it requires very little IT support. They currently are averaging less than $100/month in IT service charges through our service.
Enhanced Books

Enhanced Books provides a digital online component to hard-print published books. The idea is that the author and publishers of the books can add additional multimedia to the books online so that they can nurture a community around the books. We helped develop a data schema and data entry system that would allow the system to grow with 80% automated solutions. The foundation of what we built will support XML/SOAP harvesting of the book page data after they have been scanned into a holding area.
