HIGHLIGHTS
DEEP Cart Ecommerce

Surfperch's unique ecommerce model puts the power of world-class ecommerce in the hands of the small brick and mortar business. We built it for them. It's a Web2.0 offering that empowers small and medium sized ecommerce vendors with the abilities to compete with the big guys.
"The Oprah Effect"
Some of Surfperch's clients were showcased on the Oprah Winfrey Show as fashion must-have products. Prompted by warnings from Oprah's Production Staff, Surfperch approached me to organize the IT infrastructure so they could survive the onslaught of ecommerce activity that follows and frequently devastates those touched with the Oprah Effect.
I put together a plan and team with three levels of contingencies for managing everything from bandwidth overload to database meltdown. We weathered the Oprah Effect very well. The roller-coaster ride of record product sales made for some very happy product vendors!
Reimbursement Plus v2

The Reimbursement Plus Web Application was ready to become a Web 2.0 service offering. I helped work out all the technical issues with the government data source download, imports, conversions, and re-displaying of the data using ColdFusion and Flex platforms.
This project required a team of developers which I directed while I worked on portions of it myself. The project included complex Flash, ColdFusion, and Flex application development models.

Complex government regulatory and insurance industry data related to clinical practice codes (CPTs) and Correct Coding Initiative (CCI) are repurposed into easier to understand relationships for medical practice managers.

The new system was also designed to allow syndication and I built the first syndicated version of the site for the American Optometric Association.
The Global Contact Lens Annuity Calculator

I architected and developed an online survey tool application using ColdFusion, Flash/Flex, and XML. It's first application was the Global Contact Lense Annuity Calculator. An invitation only survey to gather data about contact lens resales operations and generate country-wide and global average calculations in multiple currency. The purpose of which was to make contact lens resellers aware of the long-term customer value lost when a customer gave up on contact lenses.

The initial version was in English and was tested in a controlled environment before moving on to an localization effort to place the same survey tool application into 11 different languages including several multi-byte character based ones.
Portland Youth Foundation

A client requested a content managable portal site with all the features of a typical poral site (memberships, newsletters, blogs, et cetera). My solution was based on the open source platform built for ecommerce known as Magento Commerce. My team and I were able to customize the commerce engine so that it would also support the portal presence of the Foundation and now they will have the expansion capability of adding commerce to their site with minimal effort.
Northwest Timber

The same foundational blocks allowed my team and I to customize Magento around the business operational model of Northwest Timber.
Realtime Delivery Service Management
I architected and wrote the functional design spec for a Realtime Delivery Service Management application based on open-source technologies. The project has not yet been funded but scoping the project was a great deal of work and time. And my technology selections included cutting-edge real-time business intelligence mechanisms and both cellular and GIS technologies.
Numerous LAMP and WAMP Projects
During this period I continued to provide support and development on numerous smaller LAMP and WAMP projects.
Internet Service Hosting Architecture
During this period I continued also was called on to design various hosting platforms for standard web hosting, load-balancing high-availability environments, and ecommerce platforms.
